Zero Harm Environment

Safety
First. Always.

IGOZOMO envisages injury-free production as a result of safe working environments for all employees. Our commitment to health and safety is absolute — placed above all other considerations.

Our Philosophy

Safety Is Not
Negotiable

At IGOZOMO, we believe that every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of every shift. This belief drives every decision, every process, and every investment we make in our operations.

Our Quality Assurance Management System focuses on mitigating the top five workplace risks, with a robust internal safety and quality assurance function staffed by a team of experts dedicated to achieving a zero-harm environment.

How We Enforce Safety

01

Quality Assurance Management System

IGOZOMO operates a robust Quality Assurance Management System focused on mitigating the top five workplace risks. The system is staffed by a team of experts and contributes to a zero-harm environment across all operations.

02

Sections 22 & 23 — Mining Health and Safety Act

Practical knowledge of Sections 22 and 23 of the Mining Health and Safety Act is entrenched across the organisation. All site managers and supervisors are trained and certified in these critical regulatory requirements.

03

Monthly Safety Audits

Each site manager and supervisor compiles a monthly safety roster featuring predetermined safety indicators. Monthly audits — both surface and underground — are conducted to measure compliance across all active sites.

04

Audit Results & Action Plans

Audit results are presented at monthly IGOZOMO meetings, where solutions and actions are devised to deal with non-compliance. This ensures continuous improvement and accountability at every level of the organisation.

05

Weekly Incident Reporting

Bottom-up incident reporting is used weekly to identify areas for behaviour or systems improvement. This proactive approach catches potential hazards before they become incidents.

06

Certificates of Competency

All supervisory staff — Site Managers, Area Managers, and General Managers — hold the appropriate Certificates of Competency as required by Tanzanian mining regulations.
